Six-Zone Roadshow Event at Mersen's Stockton-on-Tees Site

Mersen is a large international organisation in the electrical power and advanced materials markets, and takes an incredibly active role in the wellbeing of all of their staff across their manufacturing sites, as well as their research and development facilities.

As a long-term client, Mersen contacted New Leaf Health in mid-2021 looking to run a wellbeing event during the summer months amongst staff that had returned to working on-site following COVID-19.

Working with Health & Safety Manager David Duncan, Andy at New Leaf set up a Six-Zone Roadshow Event to address the key areas of wellbeing that formed part of Mersen’s health strategy for 2021.

As with all events run by New Leaf Health, this Roadshow was designed, first and foremost, to deliver against Mersen’s needs, to be accessible to all staff, and to promote factual and actionable health advice, based on NICE guidelines.

The Roadshow

We ran Mersen’s Roadshow on a drop-in basis, meaning staff were free to attend the different zones at their convenience, rather than booking a specific appointment. This allowed staff to fit their visit to the roadshow around their workday commitments, as well as giving people the flexibility to visit at a different time of day, if they wanted to come back at a quieter time, for example.

Roadshow Zones Featured at the Event

The Roadshow, run by a team of New Leaf Health practitioners, featured:

  • Health Check Point
  • Musculoskeletal Health and Posture
  • Mental Health
  • Weight Management – Healthy Eating and Physical Activity
  • Coronary Heart Disease Prevention
  • Fitness Test

Mersen also used the event as an opportunity to incorporate their own health and safety messaging into the day, featuring an area where staff engaged with Mersen’s H&S leaders.

I thought this event was fantastic, the best thing I’ve ever witnessed.

David Duncan - Health & Safety Manager at Mersen (Stockton)
