Employee Vitamin D Testing

A lack of Vitamin D can cause bones to become soft and weak as the minerals needed to keep them strong cannot get to the bone. This can lead to bone deformities and a condition called osteomalacia, which causes bone pain, muscle weakness and tenderness.

Vitamin D is often referred to as ‘the sunshine’ vitamin as our body creates Vitamin D from direct sunlight on our skin. All skin types will vary but from late March/April to the end of September, most people should be able to derive all the Vitamin D they need but, in the winter months, levels tend to drop and many of us will become deficient. Apart from bone-health, low Vitamin D levels can also effect energy levels and performance, not to mention a vulnerable immune system, that could start to impact on employee health.

How Vitamin D Testing works

The tests are carried out by drawing a small drop of blood from the fingertip, which is then applied to a testing strip.

A standard day includes one practitioner, who can provide up to 39 tests for your workplace whilst also raising awareness around Vitamin D management. Employees will receive their results within 15-minutes, which will allow time for vital goal-setting and referral.
